Yesterday we found out that a good family friend passed away. She had been sick for some time with cancer, and even though she seemed to making progress, last month drs told her family she was on borrowed time. While in mid-air on their flight to Australia, Erica passed away at home.
I didn't know her very well, save for a few letters here and there, and our common shared adventure of young motherhood. Erica was 29, married to the love of her life and raising two young boys, ages 3 and "almost" 5.
I cried last night. Not so much for the loss of Erica, but for the 2 little angels she left behind.
The reality of life hit close to home yesterday and it scared me.
Erica, you are a beautiful spirit and you will be dearly missed.
