Summer Excursions

we have been taking a lot of day trips, and making the most of what is left of our summer, before school, and chaos sets in.  The other day we spontaneously got into the van and just drove.  We ended up in Harrison and spent the day being beach bum tourists...the next day after work we took off to the Chilliwack Corn maze... today we did some garage sales, and have been hiding out from the sun a bit. Us redheads tend to not fare so well in the sun ;)
I wonder what tomorrow has in store??!?

4!!!!

August 20, 2007 @ 9:21pm you came into this world, not breathing, and not responding. Those were the longest  4 minutes of Mommy's life.  Now here we are, celebrating 4 years together, my little baby boy.

I cannot believe just how fast these past 4yrs together have gone by.... you light up my life, my son, and everyday I thank God for bringing you back to me, and completing our little family of 3.  You are kind, empathetic, smart, witty, and just so darn cute. You make my eyes twinkle and my heart swell, each and every day.
Cole Robert, you are a walking, breathing Miracle, and my constant reminder that God does, indeed, hear my prayers.

Cassy

My darling dog, Cassy is more than just our family pet. She is an inspiring warrior. Cassy is now 13 and has battled (and WON) cancer 3 times. the most recent just this summer.

This past week she was not eating, and we braced ourselves for the inevitable news. We said our goodbyes and off to the vet Cassy and I went the next morning. I am thankful to have such and awesome vetrinarian, who wanted to run some "just because" xrays. Miracle of miracles, Cassy's tumor had shrunk. Why? don't know. The et examined her, to find she was suffering from a parasitic bug of some sort, as her immune system is compromised. He prescribed antibiotics, and sent BOTH of us home.

I must have looked like a freak, walking my dog home, blubbering the whole way hahaha. So whatever divine intervention happened, ThankYou. My boys came home to f ind their dog still here, and our family still complete.

Cassy you are beyond brave, and I admire your courage and strength to kick Cancer's ass, and stay with us. We love you SO MUCH. XOXO

We've been busy trying to finish the flooring upstairs, and putting together new furniture. funtimes. Throw into the mix a mischievious kitten, a highstrung dog, and 2 kids who seem to fuel the frustration fire. Aaah patience is definitely a virture, lemme tell ya :P

As an early bday gift Cole got a slide bed. What a pain it was putting together, but definitely worth watching his baby blues light up. The flooring upstairs is a work in progress but progress is being made, no matter how slow, so I won't grumble! :)
